Mobile network population coverage
Share of the population within range of a mobile network signal, by technology generation.
Unit: per cent of population · Measurement: STATUS · Scope: NATIONAL · Comparability group: MOBILE_POPULATION_COVERAGE_PCT
What this is not
Almost every serious error in operational data is a category error rather than an arithmetic one. These are the things this indicator shares a unit with and must never be combined with.
- Geographic coverage, which is lower where population is concentrated.
- Subscription or usage, which measures take-up rather than availability.
- Service quality when the network is reachable.
How current a reading has to be
Current within 120 days, usable within 365 days, measured against the 2026-09-23 build rather than against the time you read this page. A static deployment cannot re-age itself, so the build date is the honest anchor.
County access and food-security classifications are set against a rainy season, not a week. A four-month window covers one seasonal phase; beyond a year the classification describes a different season entirely.
Readings held (0)
SSIP holds no reading for this indicator. No dataset in the corpus carries this indicator. It is declared so that the absence is stated rather than left blank.
This is a declared gap, not a zero and not a clean bill of health. Nothing is known about this indicator, and an absence of readings is not an absence of problems.
What SSIP does not hold
- SSIP holds no coverage reading of any kind. The corpus contains one corporate circuit price in Juba and nothing else about connectivity.
- Route-level coverage grades exist in the Juba pilot corpus but are reference content and are not read into operational intelligence.
How to read this
Every figure on this page carries an evidence state — Verified, Operational, Announced, Estimated, Inferred, Disputed, Simulated, Reference or Unavailable — and each state has a stated definition. SSIP does not present an estimate as an observation, and it does not record a missing value as zero.
